The dance group of Marosszentanna was founded in Sintana de Mures township on the 16th of July 2012.
The idea of founding the dancegroup with only young people to carry on the folk traditions came from the former dance group of the Harangláb (Belfry) Folk Dance Group, Zsolt Pápai. We succeeded in creating this dance group with the help of few enthusiastic young people from the village. As the dancers joined us from different villages of the surroundings, like Marosszentanna (Sîntana de Mureş), Udvarfalva (Curteni) and Várhegy (Chinari) it became the dance group of the township choosing the Táncos Talpak name for the group (it's meaning is 'Dancing Soles').
At the beginning the group consisted of 17 dancers, 10 girls and 7 boys, including 2 couples but fortunately we are 20 people now, 11 girls and 9 boys.
Our main objective is to maintain the Hungarian folklore of our region, to enrich the cultural events both in number and quality in the township, to endear with more and more people the Hungarian folk traditions and customs, to learn the folk dances and songs of other regions and of course, to recruit more young people willing to dance.
